Peter DeAngelis and Robert Marcucci founded Chancellor Records and became one of Philadelphia’s most successful manager/producer teams in the fifties and sixties. These partners grew up in South Philadelphia, wrote hundreds of songs together and struck lightning with their first hit, “With All My Heart.” Marcucci and DeAngelis combined their writing and producing skills and arrived at a formula for success, highlighted by their creative development and management of the careers of Philadelphia’s teen idol treasures, Frankie Avalon and Fabian.

The late DeAngelis was a talented writer, arranger, and producer, whose compositions included Al Martino’s “My Cherie,” Frankie Avalon’s “Venus” and Fabian’s “Young and Wonderful.” DeAngelis is credited with a long list of hit records for top artists, including Dean Martin, Eddie Fisher, Mike Douglas, Bobby Rydell and more. He was also a classical composer, credited with large symphonic works, as well as pieces for chamber ensembles. Peter De Angelis is remembered by his family and loyal fans for the passion he had for the music that had the distinctive “De Angelis” sound.
