During the 1960s and ’70s, the renowned jazz vibraharpist and percussionist was a key member of the studio house band that recorded the music of Gamble, Huff and Bell and just about anyone else who came from around the world to capture the magic of “The Philly Sound.” Montana went on to create the Salsoul Orchestra, and then his own Montana Orchestra and Goody Goody. Writing, arranging, producing and conducting his unique style of dance music, he gained a worldwide reputation as a dance music pioneer of the Disco Era. In the 1980s, Montana founded his own Philly Sound Works label, where he continued to produce signature club classics. With over 25 gold and platinum album awards, Vincent Montana, Jr. is truly a musical success story.
